Frequently Asked Questions
1.) Why should I have my wedding videotaped?
Quite simply, there is no better way to preserve the memories of your
special day. A video will allow you to re-live your wedding with all the sights,
sounds and emotions of the day. When asked to look back on their
wedding day, many couples will comment " it was a blur" or "it went by in the
blink of an eye". By capturing it on film, you can savor the day. You'll see
things from your guest's perspective and will likely catch many things that
you never saw happen.
2.)How long is the video?
It depends on the services that you want us to provide but on average, it
will contain 45 to 90 minutes of edited material. Your movie is delivered on
DVD and is organized by chapters (ceremony, toasts, special dances, etc.)
so you can jump to any section you like
3.) What is a Highlight Video?
While most couples will want to watch their wedding video in it's entirety
(over and over), you'll likely want a shorter version to share with family and
friends. The Highlight video is about 3-5 minutes long and is a montage of
the day's events scored to music. We post this video on a secure website
for your family and friends to view or download. It is also included on your
DVD.
4.) Who picks the background music for our video?
You do, but some couples like to give us the free hand to make the
selection. The marriage of music to moving images is a delicate matter. We
pride ourselves on our ability to weave the two together to generate an
emotional experience. So whether you provide us with a song, or we
choose, we'll make that happen.
5.) We have photo sessions planned with our photographer on our
wedding day. Do we need to also plan time to pose for the video?
Only if you want to. What we've found to work best is to allow us to attend
the photo sessions. Let your photographer do their work and we will
capture all the candid and fun moments that typically unfold during these
sessions.
6.) Will you be using bright lights when filming?. They can be
distracting.
Not to worry. Our state-of-the-art cameras perform great in low light and we
will always use the natural light whenever possible. If there is an occasion
where we absolutely need better lighting in order to get the scene, we will
use a very low wattage (20W) dimable camera light.
7.) What is a Steadicam ?
A Steadicam is a compact camera stabilizer - a scaled down version of a
device used by Hollywood film makers. It allows us to produce amazingly
smooth footage of all the action scenes in your wedding. The greatest
benefit is that it frees us from the confines of a tripod giving us more
mobility to get to where the action is and to film it unobtrusively.
(translation - we won't be chasing you around the dance floor at your
reception with a gigantic camera tripod.)
8.) Will the video contain special effects?
Yes - we use professional editing software that gives us the ability to
include a range of effects. ( slow motion, black & white, transitions, etc.)
However, we always strive to keep effects secondary to the most important
goal of telling the story of your wedding day.
9.) You film in High Definition - will I need a Blu-ray DVD player to
watch my wedding movie?
No -we will produce your final edited DVD in standard definition format so
that it is playable on any DVD player (even Grandma's!). At some point in
the future as HD Blu-ray players become more common, we will likely make
Blu-ray our standard delivery. In the mean time, if you do own a Blu-ray
player and want a true HD copy, We can offer this to you for a slight
premium charge.
10.) When can I expect delivery of my wedding movie?
We will give you a firm delivery date at time of contract but in general, you
can expect delivery within 6-8 weeks.
11.) How far in advance do we need to book your services?
It's best reach out to us as soon as possible to ensure availability for your
wedding date. We presently have some dates still available for 2008 and
are booking for 2009. If you have a date you'd like us to block out, we can
hold for 30 days prior to contract signing.
